HTC Desire 700 dual sim

HTC Desire 700 dual sim Review

HTC has been working overtime to cover up all the bases using the HTC Desire umbrella. This includes the mid-range devices, as well as phablets. The Desire 700, influenced by the design of the HTC One, has a larger body, with glossy plastic donning the device overall. It is a downer from the aluminum unibody design we saw on the HTC One, but has the advantage of the back panel being detached and has a replaceable battery as well.

Standing at 5 inches, the device is marginally larger than the One (4.7 inch) but the qHD display means the display of the HTC One was much better, and this display has a lower ppi. However, the stereo speakers that we also saw on the HTC One are present here too. The back camera has also been reduced to an 8MP shooter. The Sense 5 is available on the device with Jelly Bean 4.1.2, though we are expecting the device can be updated to Android 4.3 and Sense 5.5.

The device has a full-HD video capability, an increased battery, and increased screen size over its most recent predecessor, the Desire 600 – yet, this device mainly embodies the shift in focus for the company, that they are now looking to cover all the ranges of smartphone devices and take the competition head on. Also, the device has a China-made Spreadtrum Shark quad-core, with Cortex A7 cores, running at 1.2 GHz.

The overall composition in terms of the above seem to make a perfect candidate for a mid range device perfectly suited for countries where the dual-SIM option is explored in its full potential.

Nokia Lumia 525

Nokia Lumia 525 Review

In the past, Nokia was not too much of a success however, all this started to change with the Nokia Lumia 520 pulling up Nokia. With the attractive price tag offering more in terms of features and affordability, the device was an instant success.

In the recent times, Nokia has planned to keep the winning formula intact. With the Nokia Lumia 525 coming out as a successor of the Nokia Lumia 520, Nokia has held up the concept of consistency and similarities instead of flashiness and too much experimentation. With the Nokia Lumia 525 targeting to follow a huge success in the form of the Nokia Lumia 520 which played a pivotal role in the Windows phone success, it was only fitting to see the more than usual consistency between these two devices.

Samsung Galaxy Grand 2

Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 Review

Samsung released the Galaxy Grand last year as the decently priced large screen smartphone for the masses. The device also had an extra SIM slot which seems to be useful for a growing number of users these days. Galaxy Grand could not get as successful as the Galaxy Mega, with the screen size set at 5 inches. However, with the expansion in competition, this time around the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 needs to up its game to perform better, as there are plenty more smartphones in the market with large screens and price tags that are on the decent side.

Well, with the new smartphone, Samsung has entered a solid response on every account through the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. The display size has been boosted by a quarter of an inch without any sizeable increase in weight, and the reduction of bezels, while increasing the resolution to 720p, raising the pixel density to 280ppi. There have been improvements to the designing, with faux leather at the back, stitched, and though the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 sticks to the same camera which was pretty decent, the processing has been improved. Another plus is the quad-core Cortex A7 chipset from Qualcomm.

The battery has also been raised by about 500mAh to 2,600mAh, to cater to the large display and better processer. Even the pricing has not been raised too much, to still make the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 pretty affordable.

LG Nexus 5

LG Nexus 5 Review

Those who follow the mobile sphere surely know what the term ‘Nexus’ means. It is the name that is given to Google’s line of pure Android smartphones. The first model of this series was the Google Nexus One and since then Nexus has become the company’s core way of showcasing its latest version of the Android platform, and this time it is the Google Nexus 5.

The LG Nexus 5 or simply the Nexus 5 is the latest and an affordable Google’s smartphone that comes with the top-shelf specs. The Nexus 5 is made in collaboration with Google and LG and it runs on the latest version of Android 4.4 KitKat. The Nexus 5 is a solid smartphone with a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 chipset and 2GB RAM, which certainly sounds market leading. It has a 2,300mAh battery and a 5-inch 1080p display with an 8 mega pixel optically image stabilized camera and of course LED flash, and as expected, this pure Android smartphone is endowed with the most cutting edge hardware as well.

What’s more? The phone is available in two colors: black and white, and two sizes: 16GB and 32GB. With the Nexus 5, you can bring the best of Google on your homescreen at a price that is too good to be true, i.e. $349 and $399 for 16GB and 32GB respectively.

LG G Flex

LG G Flex Review

With the constant and continuous entries of similar devices in the market, all trying to take up the crown of leading device, and all ultimately coming up with pretty similar features, there has started to come up a limitation to the creativity of design amongst manufacturers. The most recent entrant in the race, though, the LG G Flex, disproves this notion, bringing in something fresh and different into the mix to attract attention of an ever-growing pool of smartphone users.

The stylish and curvy design, as well as the flexible screen and battery of the device, are a major difference to the consistent rectangular shaped, and similar devices in the market. The self-healing coating at the back is a unique addition too, and we know will surprise many a user with its resilience.

The device actually is flexible, though you would have to exert some force to curve the device. The device, containing the new Plastic OLED (P-OLED), which in itself is pretty neat, also comes up with a slightly curved battery, which packs a respectful 3,500 mAh. However, this weighs on the device width, taking it to 8.7mm in thickness. However, the resolution, at 720p only has a pixel per inch count of 245 ppi. Still, it is pretty amazing, since phones, smartphone or not, are not traditionally made of flexible material – the screen, the glass, the battery or the motherboard. Well, with this device, this has changed to 'were not', actually.

Apple iPad mini 2

Apple iPad mini 2 Review

Last year when iPad mini was launched, users were quite excited to see a shrunken version of Apple’s full-sized tablet. Though this was a logical offering that helped the company to compete almost on the same scale as that of some cheap tablets.

The Apple iPad mini 2 comes with A7 chip under the hood and a 128GB iteration to satisfy those that crave a lot of HD action. The last year’s iPad mini was the best iPad that everyone wants to have. With the iPad mini 2 which will be called the “iPad Mini with Retina Display” and “iPad Mini Retina”, the company tries to fix both of these problems.

Furthermore, along with this higher resolution display the iPad mini 2 is also blessed with the usual assortment of upgrades. And unlike the last year iPad mini, there is no corner cutting that makes the iPad mini 2 more expensive than its predecessor. Its higher price makes it less competitive against those low-priced tablets it was sought out to compete against in the beginning. Despite its higher price, the iPad mini 2 is an offering that users will definitely consider. So, let’s see whether this high pricing is justified or not.

Nokia Asha 503

Nokia Asha 503 Review

The Nokia Asha essentially is a slightly revamped version of the Asha 501 which was released this spring. The phone will likely get the most face time in emerging markets, all because of its smartphone like features and of course its affordable price tag. The Nokia Asha 503 is an affordable feature rich phone that comes in different vibrant colorful tones that most likely grab the attention of young customers. The phone definitely is aiming for the younger crowds. This is apparent from its features and display and design features as well such as its transparent glossy case which actually is a unique glass like outer coating that gives the impression as if the phone is in glossy case.

The Asha 503 comes in a dual and single SIM models so that you can choose which model you would prefer. For a quick sum up, the Asha 503 builds up on the blocky design and the colors of the Asha 501 but it adds in 3G connectivity. Plus, it boosts a more powerful and capable mega pixel camera.

The new Asha is no more different than the Asha 501 on its outer side with the only giant exception, and that is, the Asha 503 features a box like layer of transparent polycarbonate that surrounds the standard colored casing. This design technique is pretty much fresh and we have not seen this much before. The purpose of this extra layer is to prevent the regular casing of the phone from wear and tear and also to keep it from lose its color over time.

Because of its design, you can expect the new Asha to be a bit bulky as compared to its predecessor. Anyways, let’s find out more about its internal and to find out whether its features are enough to justify that you should buy this phone or not.

Nokia Lumia 1520

Nokia Lumia 1520 Review

The Lumia 1520 can be labeled as yet another Lumia device, although better in size and processing power. The ability to select custom apps as well as the advanced imaging, for Nokia, are the key points that Nokia is hoping will give the Android counterparts a stiff test. Also, the addition of the Snapdragon 800 as the chipset will provide the device additional firepower to cover the weak area of processing power. For recent Nokia users of Windows Phone, this should be music to the ears.

Recently, the Nokia sellout to Microsoft was in the headlines, and it again raised the debate of what if Nokia had gone with Android instead of Windows Mobile. The launch of this device, the 1520, may very well fuel the debate, with Nokia entering the mainly Android territory of phablets, with a bang. The device is set to feature as one of the better devices among some of the biggest phablets at this time. With its 1080p display, the PureView camera, and the quad-core Snapdragon 800, the device has made quite an entrance.

The device supports Full HD display as well as the quad-core Krait processor. Nokia also toyed around the idea of using the size and resolution to better purpose with the addition of an extra column of contents throughout the device interface.

Lumia 1520 is just the perfect device to be launched by Nokia, though launching this device some months ago would have put Nokia well in the game of smartphones and phablets, since for us, this might be the finest device put up by Nokia in recent times.
