LG G2

LG G2 Review

LG was not performing too well in the smartphone market. In the last few years, the company launched many flagship high end phones that hardly managed to make a dent. With today’s cutting edge competition, LG badly needs a hero device that can get noticed by the customers who are drowned in the sea of Galaxies and touchscreens. And, for this, the company utilized a totally different approach to battle the behemoth. It is taking off the moves of its neighbor trying to beat it in its own game.

The LG G2 is the bestial smartphone that is LG's answer to the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One. It's a huge, yet not completely bulky smartphone crammed with specs that would make the shrewdest geeks drool. With the G2, it seems like LG took a lot of cues from its Korean counterpart and built what many called a Galaxy S4 clone. It's large, made of lots of plastic, shaped similarly and is jam-packed with much more features. G2 surely is an attention grabber even without the expensive PR.

This device will be known as a phone that brings true hardware innovation for the first time in many years. So, without any further ado, let’s begin with unboxing the LG G2.

Nokia 515

Nokia 515 Review

A blast from the past. That is what comes to mind when seeing the Nokia 515 device. Has Nokia forgotten the year? Has it confused the smartphones era with the basic devices era? Has it misunderstood the need of audio text acceptance to predictive text in basic messaging? What about voice dialing confusion with speed dial, or color displays?

The Nokia 515 seems to be a decade late, but Nokia has still got the arrogance to release the device. However, the device has the features we all fell in love with, like the sturdy built, the extreme simplicity and the solid performance, not to mention the extremely long life of the battery.

Nokia Lumia 625

Nokia Lumia 625 Review

As Nokia is bought out by Microsoft, one of the last smartphones that the company managed to release is the Lumia 625, which is one of the last remnants of a very difficult time faced in the modern era by the once exclusive phone manufacturers. How the Lumia 625 fares in the smartphone market remains to be seen though.

However, we fear that Lumia 625 may not be the last final hurrah for Nokia, as that honor may very well belong to the recently announced Lumia 1020.

However, the most prominent feature of the Lumia 625 may very well be the increase in the screen size, with a bound from the 3.8" to a larger 4.7", the Lumia 625 has almost one inch larger screen diagonal size than its predecessor. Also, with the LTE support, the better clock speed and the video recording being full-HD, we can think Nokia was maybe on the right direction had it lasted some more time.

Huawei Ascend P6

Huawei Ascend P6 Review

The ultra-slim Huawei Ascend P6 has taken the title of the slimmest smartphone from all the major players of the smartphone arena. With this action the new entrant in the area has boldly stated that it is coming up to speed with its competitors who are some of the big guns in the smartphone industry, and even trying to push into leadership slot in some areas. The Ascend P6, with its classy and well-designed body, contains a balanced feature set that is appealing to all, demonstrated by the increase in sales.

The Ascend P6, the 6.2 mm thin device, is powered by the company's self-developed chipset - the K3V2 - featuring a quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A9 processor, a 16-core GPU and a very well utilized 2GB of RAM. The strategy taken up by Huawei in its latest devices to use its own manufactured processors shows the increasing confidence that the company has in its own products, as well as providing the company with the free hand to utilize the chipset to its maximum for an enhanced performance.

HTC Desire 200

HTC Desire 200 Review

The company has officially launched the HTC Desire 200 in June 2013. The phone comes with a smaller 3.5-inch screen and 1GHz processor. The original HTC Desire is among the most exclusive clique of phones and therefore it has achieved the highest honor a phone can enjoy.

Though, many of us think that the HTC Desire 200 can hardly manage to reach the same heady heights as its forefather but keeping the price range in mind, its specs are not that shameful.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Sony Xperia Z Ultra Review

After quite some time, through the Xperia Z Ultra, Sony has initiated its move into the upper midrange segment with a serious foot forward, since the segment, created by Samsung, has so far been dominated by the Note division of Samsung.

A 6.4" phablet, while of course not expected to generate the level of sales that a proper mainstream device like Xperia Z is expected to, however it does speak volumes about the company’s level of confidence in the product line. With market leaders still dominating the sales in this domain, Xperia Z Ultra has staked its contention, and made a bold statement at the same time, challenging the Samsung line to come up with something to again wrestle the lead. In the Xperia Z Ultra, with the looks and powerful hardware combined, it is almost certain to pull a lot of market in its direction.

Nokia Asha 501

Nokia Asha 501 Review

Despite the fact that smartphones buzz has all been around for a few years now, approximately 85 percent people are still using feature phones. We can say that half of the world’s mobile phones, five years down the line, will be these affordable feature phones.
